Firecrawl Government & Legal Index
Free search across US federal, state and local law: statutes, regulations, municipal codes and court opinions.
Firecrawl's Government & Legal Index is a free search index of US government pages, covering federal and state statutes, regulations, municipal and zoning codes, and court opinions. Results can be filtered by jurisdiction (federal or a state), court type, CourtListener court id, cited case and domain, and every result links to its government source. The vendor documents a search API that works without an API key (a key raises rate limits), an SDK method, a CLI command and a tool in Firecrawl's MCP server; it is also available through the Firecrawl connector in Claude. LegalAIMCP called the public search API on 2026-10-24 and got New York City Zoning Resolution sections back for a floor-area-ratio query. It also powers this site's search_us_law MCP tool. Search results are not legal advice: confirm the issuer, jurisdiction, effective date and version at the source.
