CourtListener Research MCP
Search 3,352 US courts for cases, judges, citations, and PACER dockets with AI
CourtListener Research MCP gives AI assistants access to one of the largest free legal research databases in the United States. It covers 3,352 courts and provides case search, precedent analysis, judge pattern research, citation validation, and federal PACER docket access. Attorneys can ask their AI assistant to find all cases in the Second Circuit citing a specific precedent, check a judge's ruling history on summary judgment motions, or validate whether a citation is still good law. The server pulls from CourtListener's database maintained by Free Law Project, a nonprofit dedicated to making legal information freely accessible. An excellent free alternative for firms that cannot justify a Westlaw or LexisNexis subscription for every attorney.
